Goodness... where did the summer go -
I think I say that every Summer. But, since all the Back to school supplies are in every store, we know it is right around the corner !
I have kids of all ages - but, I started last year making the cutest and funniest little lunchbox notes. I send one with the little one everyday. Then, as a little joke, I started sneaking them in my high school daughters lunchbox. The first time she said - "MOM what the heck was that in my lunchbox - the girls at the table were laughing. Well, my daughter has a great sense of humor and then she starting asking if she had her note in her lunchbox everyday too! I send some uplifting notes and some funny little jokes and riddles. I decided this year, I am going to go one step further and add in cute water bottle labels and other goodies too ! They LOVE these!!

Something special that our whole family has been doing for over 7or 8 years is going to a local Senior Home for older and handicapped residents. This facility has adults who are deeply in need of visitors and social interaction. We bring games, treats, gifts and prizes with us every visit. They love seeing the kids and hearing about regular everyday life events. Most hardly ever leave the grounds of the facility. Yesterday, we brought a new game that we play at holidays. They usually play bingo, and although they enjoy it - we thought it must get a little old, only playing that over and over.
My sister made us a game - using dollar store animals. She made a game board on a posterboard . As many different kinds of animals that you are using - make that many game spaces. If you have 5 animals - draw up 5 lanes with multiple spaces. Then using a deck of cards with only the numbers of cards for animals - so, say we are still using the 5 animals. Shuffle your cards and then turn over one a time. If it is a Elephant on space #2 - and you turn over a 2 - the elephant moves 1 space. Then going through the deck of cards until one animal wins the race. We call it the Animal Racing Game. We gave each resident an animal to hold and "Root" for - they loved it. Every winner got a small prize. We played many times. Great birthday party game too.

Sky wanted to have a Birthday party that at the local Cookie shop - it was a very different idea and we thought it was fun to do something a little different. I got little aprons from the dollar store and made Flower clips with personalized bottlecap centers as a name tag that doubles as a take home gift - flower hairbow. The girls loved them. I saw them everywhere at school the next week. It was such a fun way to have a great take home gift. You can check them out in my shop - http://www.zibbet.com/Time2celebrate/artwork?artworkId=1198247
LOVE these new baskets that we got in the new house! We had the builder make these built in shelves and then each family member has their own baskets for clothing and sports equipment - its awesome I LOVE IT!
Check out this ADORABLE wall design we added in Sky's room. I was going to
paint the tree on the wall - but, then decided that she may want to change
things sooner than later and I would not want to repaint it again so soon.
So, we got this 39 step design off of ETSY and then pieced it together. I
then used real 3D flowers (the ones you use for hair clips and such) with gem
centers. I attached them only using the removable sticky things - the
kinds for posters and such - they do not leave a residue when removed. It
looks perfect in the room - it is such a wonderful focal piece
